bushcraft & survival
Jens Rasmussen, is a child of the “back to the land movement" who grew up in rural Wisconsin. His time on the farm and in the woods, taught him how live with nature: from collecting wild food, fishing, and hunting, to working with natural materials and surviving in the harshest conditions.
Over the years he has continued to deepen his understanding of bygone skills such as buck skinning, bare-hand navigation, canoe, axe, knife, and fire craft. More recently, in NYC, he has turned his hand to urban foraging and urban homesteading.
Whether in the city or the wilds, Jens enjoys teaching others how to combine natural human ingenuity with simple skills to become more self reliant and sustainable - an empowering adventure that connects us to the past and prepares us for the future.
Jens is a Climate Project Presenter (personally trained by Al Gore) and has travelled all over the US to speak on Climate Change to thousands, as well as participating in civil disobedience with the Tarsands Action at the White House.
He has taught at the Natural Building Colloquium in Bath, NY and is also an instructor with Jack Mountain Bushcraft School - known internationally for it's practical time tested and bullet proof wilderness living techniques based on skills, not gear.
